Jennifer Tomlinson-Moreland

President of Literacy and Life, brings more than 30 years of senior-level experience at a Fortune 500 Company in business strategy, account management, and driving revenue growth. Subsequently, in a senior leadership role with a national nonprofit organization, she led integrated marketing and sales teams.

Before founding Literacy and Life, Jennifer served as vice president of sales and marketing at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB&D) where she was responsible for advancing RFB&D’s mission by improving national image and visibility and also led the sales team to achieve revenue and people-served goals. She ensured optimum promotion, placement and market expansion of RFB&D memberships, programs, and resources.

Prior to joining RFB&D in 2008, Jennifer spent more than 30 years at Johnson & Johnson, holding a series of positions of increasing responsibility. In her final role, Jennifer was executive director of the Strategic Customer Group at Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems (JJHCS), responsible for development and implementation of customer-centric, go-to-market strategies for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. This position required excellent collaborative and interdependent leadership across 23 Johnson & Johnson operating companies.
 In 2005, on behalf of Johnson & Johnson Corporate Contributions, Jennifer undertook a special assignment disbursing the company’s Hurricane Reserve Fund in Caribbean countries devastated by the 2004 hurricane season. In alignment with Johnson & Johnson Contributions’ strategic priorities, she ensured effective and efficient use of funds, implemented a due diligence and selection process for grantees, and executed the grant approval/disbursement process.

Jennifer piloted the JJHCS Managed Care strategy as one of the first corporate account directors in 1997. The success of the pilot led to the expansion and rollout of the Managed Care Group in 1999 and her promotion as the national director of Managed Care. She later served as executive director of Managed Markets.

During her tenure at Johnson & Johnson, Jennifer earned two President’s Awards, three JJHCS Chairman’s Awards, a TWIN Award (Tribute to Women in Industry), a  Distinguished Service Award for community activity, and two awards for top sales results as a district manager.
She was a member of the Johnson & Johnson Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee and co-developed the Women of Color/Multicultural Leadership Program. She also served on the corporate African-American Leadership Council (AALC) Board for several years. She is currently on the Board of Prevent Blindness Tri-State.

Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from Swarthmore College. She has also participated in numerous executive development programs.
