Vernon A. Bramble

Is the Treasurer at Literacy & Life (L&L) with Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey.  In his position, he has responsibility for the budget and financial operations of the organization.  He joined L&L in February 2011.

Prior to joining L&L, Vernon was the Founder and President of Bramble and Associates, LLC, a not for profit consulting firm. His passion is to help nonprofits build sound business infrastructures and efficient operations, improve performance in grant application and management process, provide business and accounting services, including strategic and financial planning. As a Certified Association Executive (CAE) he possesses the educational and corporate skills needed in order to achieve this.

With almost 30 years working experience in varying environments, Vernon’s resume reflects work at well-respected companies such as the Grumman Corporation, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the New York Academy of Sciences. Vernon served as the Executive Vice President, Unit Administration, Finance and Information Technology at Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic, Inc. (RFB&D) with Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey where he worked for ten years.  In his position, he had responsibility for the 21 chapters nation-wide, budget and finance and the information technology departments. 

Before joining RFB&D, Vernon was the Chief Financial Officer at the New York Academy of Sciences in New York City and, prior to that, was Senior Financial Analyst with Grumman Corporation, now Northrop Grumman.  He also was the director of financial operations for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc.

A firm believer in high integrity and excellence, Vernon earned an MBA in corporate finance from Pace University, a BS degree in accounting from the College of Staten Island, a Professional Diploma in financial planning from Adelphi University and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from The American Society of Association Executives. 

Over the years, Vernon has proved to be an energetic leader with excellent visioning and analytical ability and sound judgment who believes in giving back to the community. His community involvement includes:  Member of the Board of Directors for St. Mary Medical Center, Chair of the Medical Center’s Audit and Compliance Committee and Member of the Finance Committee, Member of the Board of Directors for the Princeton Regional Chamber Foundation, Past Board Chair/Treasurer for the Huntington Valley Christian Academy, Member of the Board of Directors for the National Junior Tennis & Learning of Trenton.

Vernon resides in Newtown, PA, with his wife Gloria.
